• St. Joseph's Cathedral: A striking Roman Catholic cathedral built in the Gothic style by German missionaries at the turn of the 20th century. Its stained-glass windows are beautiful.
• Azania Front Lutheran Church: Another prominent German-built church, known for its red-tiled roof, overlooking the harbour.
• Kariakoo Market: A sprawling, chaotic, and vibrant market where you can find almost anything. It's an intense but authentic Dar experience. Go with a guide if you're not used to such bustling places.
• Day trips to Bongoyo and Mbudya Islands: These marine reserve islands offer beautiful beaches, snorkeling, and a quick escape from the city hustle. Boats leave from The Slipway or Msasani Bay. I've spent many a relaxing day off on these islands.
