15 DAYS TANZANIA AUTHENTIC PRIVATE SAFARI & BEACH
This is your authentic private safari and beach experience in Tanzania, visiting four of the best parks in Tanzania and untouched white sandy beaches. This trip has it all. Northern Tanzania is home to numerous national parks and this trip incorporates four of them, as well as a couple of days on the beaches of either Zanzibar, Pemba, Mafia, or Pangani. It may seem like there is a lot of ground to cover on this trip, but bear in mind that you will be in your own vehicle, with your own guide, driving through national parks and protected areas to get to your nightly destinations- the reality is that you are actually on one long game drive!
DAY 01 – FLIGHT TO ARUSHA
On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by your private safari guide and transferred to your chosen accommodation.
DAY 02 – FIRST SAFARI IN ARUSHA NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, your private safari guide will brief you on the itinerary for game drives and activities for your first authentic private safari in Arusha Park. This lovely small park has stunning scenery which is very different and considerably more lush than that of Tanzania’s other northern parks. There is much to see. After spending the whole day exploring this beautiful park you will drive back to your hotel in Arusha for dinner, relaxation, and overnight.
DAY 03 – HEAD TO TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
After checking out from your hotel in Arusha town you will drive towards Tarangire Park, arriving in time for lunch. You will have some time to settle in before heading out for an afternoon game drive, a great way to get acquainted with the park. This will be your home for two nights.
DAY 04 – A FULL-DAY TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, you will set out with a picnic lunch to explore this incredible and diverse park. It is home to the world’s largest concentration of elephants. It has the second-highest animal concentration in Tanzania after Serengeti national park. After your sundowner, you will drive back to your camp for dinner, relaxation, and overnight.
DAY 05 – ADVENTURE LAKE NATRON
Set off this morning towards Mto wa Mbu where a traditional safari lunch awaits you. The Mto wa Mbu offers different authentic cultural tours, like visiting a Maasai boma and observing the lifestyle of this legendary tribe up close.
Experience the innovative farming practices of Mto wa Mbu villagers and learn about the irrigation system that sustains local crops, including the 32 varieties of bananas. You can go on a mountain bike safari through the rural Mto wa Mbu area where you can pick up some gifts in the many small curio shops.
From there you continue your trip to the magic Lake Natron which lies off the beaten track and away from the crowds. Dinner will be served followed by relaxation and overnight. This will be your home for two nights.
DAY 06 – A FULL DAY IN MAASAI LAND
Lake Natron will fascinate you with its colors varying from pink, lime green, and red. This is due to the concentration of minerals in the water and possibly the reflection of the flamingos’ plumage. It is an almost surreal and breathtaking landscape that will leave you in awe!
Here the water evaporates leaving behind very a high concentration of soda, algae, and zooplankton on which the flamingos thrive. The remoteness of the lake and the hostility of the Soda mud flats provide the flamingos with a relatively safe area to breed and rear their chicks. The lake is also surrounded by scattered springs, some of which are fresh enough to provide drinking water for many species of animals.
There are plenty of activities you can pursue here such as swimming under the waterfall in the Engare Sero gorge, and birdwatching around the small streams, lakes, and hills which provide hospitable environments for birds that thrive in the alkali oasis.
You can hike to the Hominid footprints within the concession area. Research believes these tracks to be 120`000 years old, making them the Oldest homo sapiens footprints discovered so far. Other options could be a visit to the Ngare Sero waterfall, a day’s hike into the Rift Valley, a sundowner with a breathtaking view, or a visit to a Maasai Boma in this spectacular region.
DAY 07 – SAFARI TO SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
Today’s interesting journey takes you to the northern part of the Serengeti National Park. It is famous for the legendary wildebeest migration, possibly one of the last true natural wonders on the earth. Serengeti National Park is a WORLD HERITAGE SITE teeming with amazing wildlife: over 2 million ungulates, 4000 lions, 1000 leopards, 550 cheetahs, 3500 hyenas, and about 500 bird species. Enjoy lunch in camp before departing on an afternoon game drive.
DAY 08 – THE WONDERS OF SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
Spend a day exploring the beauty of Serengeti National Park. The northern Serengeti offers a distinct landscape, featuring rolling hills, valleys, acacia woodlands, and reveries, rather than the vast open grasslands you find in central and southern Serengeti.
From July to October, wildebeests migrate to the Northern Serengeti in search of richer grazing grounds. Here they normally encounter one of the biggest challenges on their journey, the mighty Mara River. It flows through northern Serengeti and Maasai Mara and becomes the setting for one of nature’s most spectacular events, the wildebeest river crossing. The violent river torrents and the crocodiles waiting in ambush manage nab and to drown quite a few wildebeests. They are aware of the dangers and if you are present there you can actually hear their low nervous grunts and feel the tension in the air.
Dinner, relaxation, and overnight at the camp.
DAY 09 – SAFARI TO THE HEART OF THE SERENGETI
The central part of Serengeti is also known as the predator capital of the world. Sightings of leopards, cheetahs, and lions are guaranteed! Even though the Serengeti plains are their natural habitat, this area has a long history of human occupation and also of human ancestors (Australopithecus afarensis). They are believed to have lived in this area almost 4 million years ago.
DAY 10 – EN ROUTE TO THE NGORONGORO CRATER
This amazing route will take you to the Ngorongoro Crater, the best place for spotting the big five. The conservation area derives its name from the splendid volcanic caldera, Ngorongoro whose name come’s from the Maasai word “El- Nkoronkoro” meaning Gift of life.
In 1879 the Ngorongoro Crater was made a UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE all the more reason for you to visit on your private safari to Tanzania. After enjoying this unforgettable place you will drive to Karatu town for dinner and overnight.
DAY 11 – TIME FOR THE BEACH
After breakfast, your private safari guide will drive you to the airstrip to catch a flight to the beaches of Zanzibar, Pemba, Mafia, or Pangani. The choice is yours. Tanzania offers you all you could wish for.
