10 DAYS NGORONGORO CRATER, SERENGETI & BEACH
This 10 days private safari itinerary offers some of the most beautiful and exciting places on Earth for African safari-goers. The Ngorongoro Crater is known as the eighth wonder of the world and the best place to spot the big five animals; lions, elephants, rhinos, leopards, and buffalos. The Serengeti wildebeest migration is one of the seven natural wonders of Africa and the beautiful white sandy beaches of Tanzania’s coast (Zanzibar, Pemba, Mafia, and Pangani), perfect for families, honeymooners, photographers, birders as well as individual guests.
DAY 01 – FLIGHT TO ARUSHA
After landing at Kilimanjaro International Airport, your Eyes 4 Nature Safari private safari guide will meet you and transfer you to your lodge or hotel where you will spend your first night.
DAY 02 – OFF TO KARATU
After breakfast you will check out from your hotel in Arusha and your safari guide will drive towards Karatu where you will spend one night. On route to Karatu, you will stop at Mto wa Mbu Village for cultural experience activities and a traditional safari lunch. The Village of Mto wa Mbu offers a variety of cultural experiences.
You will have an opportunity to walk through the streets of this African farming village, surrounded by amazing nature. During this cultural tour, you will visit a Maasai Central Market, a Curial Shop, an African School, a church, and a farm where you will experience the innovative farming practices of Mto wa Mbu villagers and learn about the irrigation system that sustains local crops, including the 32 varieties of bananas.
A cultural tour at Mto wa Mbu is a unique way to gain a detailed understanding of the local people’s daily life. This tour will take approximately 2 hours. Part of the Money will go to the local community. Afterward, you will proceed to Karatu town where a fresh dinner will be saved followed by relaxation and an overnight stay at the lodge.
DAY 03 – DISCOVER NGORONGORO CRATER
On day three we recommend an early start so that you can make the most of your visit to the crater which is one of Africa’s seven natural wonders, the most impressive geological feature in Africa. Ngorongoro Crater is a beautiful untouched and well-preserved natural phenomenon that has become a sanctuary for all kinds of wildlife. It is often referred to as “Africa’s Garden of Eden.”
The Crater is home to the rare black rhino which makes a visit to Ngorongoro even more amazing. After enjoying your picnic lunch in the crater your safari guide will drive towards Serengeti National Park for dinner and overnight at the camp or lodge.
DAY 04 – EXPLORING CENTRAL SERENGETI
After a leisurely breakfast, you will head out for a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch. The central part of Serengeti is also known as the world’s predator capital: sightings of leopards, cheetahs, and lions are guaranteed. Although animals still inhabit the plains of the Serengeti, this area has an incredibly long history of human occupation.
Also, the human ancestors (Australopithecus afarensis) lived in this area for almost 4 million years. Talk to us about adding an extra unique element to your stay in central Serengeti: a scenic hot air balloon flight over the endless plains of the Serengeti to really appreciate its scale and gain a unique bird’s-eye view of the game below. Remember that this is a scheduled, shared activity depending on the weather forecast.
DAY 05 – EMBARK TO NORTHERN SERENGETI
Today’s Interesting adventure takes you to the northern part of Serengeti national park. The route will take you through the park and the adjacent village of Serengeti. The Northern Serengeti offer’s a distinct landscape, featuring rolling hills, valleys, acacia woodlands, and riverine areas, in contrast to the vast open grasslands you find in Central and Southern Serengeti.
From July to October wildebeests migrate to the Northern Serengeti in search of richer grazing grounds. Here they encounter one of the biggest challenges on their journey: the crossing of the mighty Mara River, which runs through Northern Serengeti and Masai Mara. This is one of nature’s most spectacular events in Africa.
The wildebeests are well aware of the danger of the violent river torrents and the hungry crocodiles waiting underwater to catch them as they try to cross the river. The wildebeests are aware of the dangers, and if are around at that time, you can actually hear the low nervous grunts of the wildebeests and feel the tension in the air. Before sunset, you will drive to the camp or lodge for dinner, relaxation, and a good night.
DAY 06 – SAFARI IN SERENGETI
On this day you may decide to go for a walking safari. This can be arranged for the early morning or later in the afternoon when it is a bit cooler. Walking in the wilderness is the ultimate way to experience the Serengeti more intimately through the sense of touch, hearing, smelling, and observing the tiny creatures and scenery. A bush breakfast can be prepared to give you an unforgettable experience in the Serengeti National Park. After breakfast, you may carry on with game driving around the park and you will return to the camp before sunset for a campfire, bush stories, dinner, and bedtime.
DAY 07 – FLY TO THE BEACH
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your scheduled flight to Zanzibar, Pemba, or Mafia Island. On your arrival, you will be taken to the hotel.
DAY 08 & 09 – RELAX ON THE BEACH
Your time on the beach will be the perfect complement to your busy days on your private safari as you sit back, relax, and enjoy the sunshine. There are plenty of activities for you to enjoy including kayaking, snorkeling, scuba diving, a village tour, or a traditional cooking class, the hotel reception can help with the arrangements.
DAY 10 – HEADING BACK HOME
On this day you will be transferred to the Airport in time to catch your flight home.
