DAY 01 – FLIGHT TO DAR ES SALAAM

Touch down at Julius Nyerere International Airport, and the Eyes 4 nature safari guide will greet you and drive you to your hotel. Depending on your time of arrival in Tanzania, you can decide for yourself on the spot if you would like to receive a short safari briefing with your guide on the same day or the next morning. The rest of the day is free to spend at your leisure. Enjoy the hotel or relax by the pool and recover from your long flight.

DAY 02 – DRIVE TO MAGNIFICENT NYERERE NATIONAL PARK

After a leisurely breakfast, your safari guide will pick you up from your hotel and drive toward Nyerere national park where your dream private safari begins. This new national park is one of the world’s largest wildlife reserves, twice the size of Belgium and boasting UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE STATUS. You will spend three nights at Mloka safari lodge in the heart of fascinating Acacia woodlands, a great base for exploring the Nyerere national park. You will enjoy all the wonderful activities Mloka safari lodge has to offer.

After enjoying a delicious traditional safari lunch you will have time to relax before heading down to the river for an aquatic safari, one of Tanzania’s best wilderness safari experiences. This boat cruise on the Rufiji River will give you the opportunity to venture close and see the animals from a different perspective. You will learn more about the fascinating life of aquatic birds and experience the wonderful hippo and crocodile populations.

After two hours of cruising the Rufiji River and enjoying the amazing sunset while sipping your nice cold drink, you will return to the lodge for a delicious dinner, relaxation, and goodnight sleep.

DAY 03 – EXPLORE THE UNSPOILED NYERERE NATION PARK

Today you will have a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch, a great chance to enjoy the undisturbed nature of Nyerere national park and discover the fantastic wildlife this amazing park has to offer. The Nyerere national park has over 2,100 species of plants, more than 400 varieties of birds, more than half of Tanzania’s elephant population, and over 4,000 lions, probably the largest population on the continent.

It is also home to the planet’s largest population of rare wild dogs. The natural beauty of this park gives you the rare opportunity to observe all these animals in their natural habitat. After a sundowner, you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY 04 – ROAD TRIP OR CATCH A FLIGHT TO DAR CITY

Before driving or flying to Dar you may decide to go for a walking safari in the park which, will give you the opportunity to experience Africa’s wildlife in a completely new way. We invite you to really open your eyes and really look, listen, smell, and feel the ground beneath your feet, the sun on your back, and connect with the environment around you. A village tour could be another alternative on this day where you will spend an hour or two wandering around this busy village. You’ll learn more about the local people’s daily activities, lifestyles, culture, and traditions.

DAY 05 & 06 – DISCOVER THE HIDDEN BEACH OF DAR

Dar es Salam offers some of the most beautiful, clean, and white sandy beaches. Prepare to have an amazing time chilling out and unwinding under the shade of the coconut tree as the soothing powers of the Indian Ocean wash your stress away. Besides the untouched beaches, islands, delicious seafood, and good local music, Dar City is brimming with life, offering a variety of activities for every taste.

The National Museum and House of Culture is a great place to visit and learn more about Tanzania’s culture, as it hosts many artifacts, from fossils and bones to carvings and statues. It also documents the history of the slave trade and colonialism. The cars which belonged to the country’s first president are also exhibited. It’s a good way to spend a couple of hours if you’re looking for an educational experience.
